General Insurance is designed to cover events that may or may not happen, such as Accidents, Fire or Theft. The aim of taking out a policy is to compensate you following the loss, so that you are as well off, but no better off, than before the loss or event occurred.

As you will see from the list on the left, there are a large number of policy types available, to cover the majority of everyday risks. However, without specialist personal knowledge, or help from a professional, it is very difficult to choose the right type of policy.
